Niederburg (Castle) Manderscheid.

There are two castles at Manderschied - Niederburg and Oberburg. They are within 100 metres of each other.
Apparently, in medieval times, open hostilities between the two existed for many years!

Photographically, I must admit to being disappointed today. After taking a series of photographs - with conversion to monochrome in mind- I found that the gritty texture of the castle walls simply blended with the surrounding vegetation. Hence, against my normal instinct, you are getting a colour picture!
