Snails crossing

I have often seen signs warning about frogs and toads crossing the road. But this is the first time I have come across an appeal to avoid injuring snails. Could be a long wait !

Of course it could be advice to walkers of advanced years which includesyours truly. But I find it hard to slow down and have always believed that keeping going was one of the contributions to a long life.
