Superfluous

Today I taught the word 'superfluous' to my English students. On Monday, as a starter activity in class, I will challenge them to use it correctly in a sentence. It'll soon show me who was listening today in class.

These leaves are clinging on, through sleet, frost, rain and wind. The beautiful blue sky made a delicate backdrop for them. These brave little leaves, refusing to let go.

I can't believe that Friday is here already. I've still got a heap of marking to do, plus prepping for a photoshoot next week. That's not even thinking about the log burner installation that will be going on here. Oh well, who needs sleep?

I think I'll go and dig out a bottle of red wine.
