Let the fire installation begin!
B turned up today with one job in mind - to install my new log burner. Consent came through a couple of days ago, and this weekend has been designated 'log burner installation weekend'!
Today he removed the old chimney to make way for the new flue, which will be in a slightly different place. I was a touch nervous about holes in my roof, but he's done a good job (of course) and D, the builder, is coming tomorrow to help, along with O, the plumber, to start hooking up the wetback. Really, I am so blessed to know all these tradesmen who so generously give their time. I think I should probably do some baking tomorrow, to say thank you.
The weather's been kind to us today (despite a cold and frosty morning). You can see the old fire behind my shiny new one.
My annoying cold persists, but I've still managed to do a little marking, as well as a bit of brick removal; so all good.
Night all.
