Blossom

The first of the trees to flower, the blossom appears so early that there is usually a frost that kills any chance of the tree producing fruit.  A favourite of Bullfinches: I have only seen a fleeting glance of one this  year.  It was originally a plum tree but I think the root stock it was grafted on to has taken over.
