Tamworth Street Scene

Well we were supposed to be walking through Hopwas Woods and along the Coventry Canal today, until we arrived and L was minus her walking boots!  Not a chance of her fashion boots being suitable for the terrain so we had to go for option B which was a walk around Tamworth, through the castle gardens and along the high street.

I just loved this scene.  The Big Issue seller was dancing away to the steel band busker, while other people walked by.  Busking has moved into the 21st century, as can be seen in the image, with his own credit card terminal available to give him a £2.50 contactless tip!

Sadly the rest of the town centre was as many others have become; boarded up and empty shops, a lot of charity shops and coffee shops plying their trade.  In contrast the out of town shopping area nearby is thriving and always busy.  I just don't know what the answer is to the town centre dilemma.
