Hyndburn Armed Forces Parade
It has been a busy day.
I delivered the morning papers and then got myself some breakfast.
It has been cloudy and cold all day, but humid too.
The blip is a series of snap shots showing the Hyndburn Armed Forces parade from Rishton High Street to the War Memorial where there were readings and prayers , raising of the flags and God Save the Queen.
Each of the towns in Hyndburn, take it in turn to host this event and this year it was our turn.
The community turned out in goodly number and there was a wonderful spirit of togetherness. The lady mayor and civic dignitaries from the Council were all present.
People paraded with the elderly, their childen, people in wheelchairs and some had dogs in union flag coats.
It was a very memorable occasion and the rain stayed off thankfully.
Then after some lunch, it was off to shop in Blackburn with Maria and then to volunteer at One Planet shop from 2.30pm to 5pm.
We had some great new customers and some regular ones as well.
It was nice to chat to Nina and her friend Emily.
Now I am relaxing and about to watch Casualty as is the pattern for a Saturday evening.
Paul is in the kitchen with Arthur watching something else.
Enough said.
He is not into medical soaps! He likes comedy, music and sport.
Later if I am awake I will look in on Glastonbury.
Have a lovely evening and great Sunday fellow blippers.
