Cosi Fan Tutti
Thank you for kind comments about yesterday’s blip.
Today Jenny drove from her sister’s house in the Borders to arrive in time for a bowl of Ethiopian soup at 1pm. Oddly I made it yesterday, on the same day as Blipper Mima did and she also made her own berbere spice mix. Spooky.
After a chat Jenny went for a little rest as she doesn’t sleep well and feels she doesn’t function unless she gets 8 hours. When she re-surfaced we went to town. The original
plan had been for us to go by bus and Mr C would come in to pick us up (the last bus is 6pm) but as he was required to help Luke sometime to re-hang a couple of kitchen cupboard doors which had fallen off, he decided to drive us in and do that job.
Jenny and I shared 3 small plates at Long Friday which were tasty. Hake in kimchi butter, kale, carrot and peanut salad and a creamy haricot bean dish with olive crunch. We had water to drink as Jenny doesn’t fancy alcohol while in her grieving process. I was happy to join her in tap water. Honest!
We got the metro from the restaurant to the city centre. It’s free with our theatre tickets. We got a shock when the performance started. It was in English. That was disappointing as we prefer opera in Italian. I booked on-line and didn’t see that information. However the music was good and the singers were too though I think Scottish opera is better than Northern.
Mr C picked us up and we got home at 11.30.
