Finding Closure For A Behatted Neon Dachshund

I had to take my car, Nigella, into town today for her service and m.o.t - I should have done it a couple of weeks ago but it completely slipped my mind. She's getting on a bit now bless her - she's 13 this year - so I always drop her off with a slight feeling of trepidation as there have been some pretty costly repairs recently.
My brother agreed to came along for the ride so I once I'd dropped her off at the garage I treated him to breakfast at the Muggleton Inn, one of our local 'Spoons, which opens at 8 am. We both settled on an egg and sausage muffin with a hash brown and a large mug of coffee (with free refills) - which came to the princely sum of £8.50!
We then had a walk around town looking for possible blips but as nothing was immediately forthcoming we headed back to the Muggleton Inn for a very early pint (they start serving alcohol at 9 am!) as I knew my car would be in the garage for most of the day.
After our imbibements my brother decided to get his hair cut so I took it as another opportunity to look for a blip image which is when I managed to capture my main shot of this neon behatted dachshund in the window of a pet shop that was yet to open.
After my brother was freshly shorn he persuaded me, somewhat reluctantly, that we should walk back home along the River Medway - a distance of around four miles. Further than I've walked in quite some time.
I was really glad he did as it had turned into a lovely Spring day. It was a very peaceful stroll only interrupted very intermittently by a few fellow pedestrians, dog walkers and the occasional cyclist. We did take a couple  of stops along the way to just sit and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
My two extras were taken on the part of the walk where we passed beneath a motorway bridge that crosses the river. The first extra is of the underpass graffiti that seems to change with each passing season with the second extra being a rather more brooding image, which for some reason reminded me of the Wim Wenders film Wings of Desire, looking up towards the bridge itself.
By the time we reached Allington Lock our thirsts were definitely in need of quenching - and, what do you know, we just happened to arrive as the Malta Inn opened its doors. So I thought sod it we'll have another pint with one last look out across the river and I can pick my car up tomorrow instead.
So a rather unconventional day out and I got good news when I got back - my car had passed her m.o.t with only a couple of minor infringements which needed sorting - new brake fluid and a blocked windscreen washer filter. Now just the bill to look forward to!
