Beautiful but Deadly

I was not expecting the storms we had late last night. Being on the top of the ridge, winds tend to be stronger, rains heavier and thunderstorms rage louder and brighter. I was awake watching and listening until 2:30 am when I finally drifted off to sleep. Consequently, our balmy temperature is gone and it is cold and damp outside. This type of weather will be with us for days. We took the opportunity to simply relax and enjoy some down time. I was able to grab a few photos of these beautiful but toxic hellebores in my sister’s front garden. She has them inside a fence to prevent Sugar from getting too close to them. I texted with Lauren throughout the last two days. River has an ear infection. Apparently, he is allergic to the antibiotic Augmentin. The poor little guy is covered with itchy hives. He has been at the Urgent Care facility twice. They gave him steroids this morning so the itch was reduced temporarily. I have allergies to certain antibiotics (had hives as well) so I can relate to his situation. My sister is making homemade tomato bisque soup for our Lenten Friday dinner. We’ll make grilled cheese sandwiches to go with it. Otherwise, we will read and enjoy the fireplace tonight. Sending wishes for an enjoyable weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for the visit. Our cell service is terrible, probably due to weather. It takes forever to publish my blip. I have tried to access your journals with little success. But I will catch up soon.
