Along the Way Home

Since the visit was short and my sister is staying for a few more days, packing this morning was easy. We left all but the few food items they will not use. Our BIL made a hearty breakfast. We were on the road by 9:00 am. There was a little ice on the roads as we headed out. It was 22° F when we got up so we were not surprised. The trip so far has been fine. We stopped to get birdseed and I saw these adorable ducklings and baby turkeys. Besides getting a quick burger at lunch, our only stop was to buy a pie from the bakery we frequent. We will be one day late celebrating “pi day”. We really did not run into much traffic until we were only 2 hours from home. The sun was on my side of the car for the entire trip so getting decent photo driving at 70 mph was tricky. These will have to do. I like the sign on the back of that panel truck. I did miss the perfect blip toward the beginning of the trip. We had to stop in the middle of the highway for a strutting rooster and his Mrs. so they could cross. Just wasn’t ready to get a shot! We should be home in just over an hour. Chase says he enjoyed his stay with the kitties and will do it again when we go back in April. Such a relief. Thanks for visiting. I got through several journals but kept dozing. Maybe I can finish before we get home. Stay safe. “Going home is a gift many will never receive. Treasure your home.
