Ridge walk in the Prosecco Superiore DOCG hills

Sauna and breakfast got us off to a very good start, only to discover the next bus out was at 11:10, with over 2 hours to wait. As the sun was out and we wanted to get walking we hitch-hiked to Guia, the start of our route. Panini from the butchers there meant we were all set for the day.
The route was a lot of climbing up to the long ridge but with sun and cloud it made for an excellent day. 
Eventually we came back down to Pieve di Soligo where we were greeted with a complimentary glass of prosecco from the hotel owner who spotted it was my birthday last week. He was born in the same year and full of what a good year it must have been! 
Later we are out for our prosecco tasting! All part of the trip.
