This is our Canada Day holiday long weekend. Saturday began with a long wait for the cable guy. The crew working in my front yard yesterday snagged the cable. At 4 PM I discovered we had no internet or TV reception. Somehow we were promised a repairman for Saturday morning in spite of the long weekend and having so many workers detoured to Alberta to put things right after the flood damage. Our hero arrived about 11 AM and had everything working in minutes.

We headed off in the truck for ranch country east and above the city after lunch. All the rain we've had has paid off in abundant wild flowers.

This field is beside the Martin Prairie Road. In the background, Martin Mountain is seen slowly recovering from a forest fire a couple of years ago. Relatives living at the foot of the mountain narrowly missed losing their new house to the fire.
