xxth Birthday

The day has finally arrived! It's my birthday, and I am so pleased it is a WFH day. I'd arranged to meet with Jessica for lunch, so I worked during the week to have two hours off.

G picked me up, and we raced to our meeting point. Since I dined here last December (office team meal), I've wanted to bring G to this restaurant. Today, it finally happened. I am happy to say both friends loved the experience and the food, and the restaurant didn't let us down either.

We said our goodbyes around 4 and came home. I needed a nap! It's been incredible receiving messages and calls. The best was chatting with rachelwhynot and SweetArt. :))

And then, my cousin from Germany, who I haven't seen since 2011, arrived for a week's holiday. We picked her up at 7:30 and took her to the Sol Sky Bar and Al Seef. Costa wanted to give me a free coffee for my birthday, so I went to collect it. I couldn't drink my decaf iced mocha there and then, but G and I enjoyed it when we got home.

And then, believe it or not, I had flowers and a cake delivered to me - organised by my Team! A lovely surprise and gesture, but it would have been so much nicer to share it with them when I was in the office yesterday. And if I hadn't eaten enough food and sweet stuff already, another delivery arrived - this time nearly at midnight. It was another cake from my friend Omnia. G had to get out of bed to help me find space in "her" fridge.
