Oh I do like to be beside the river side!
It was a dreich day here in Ayr and I thought it was only 5am when I woke at 6:32! I peered out at the drizzle and got back into bed for a couple of hours reading and catching up with blips etc. I watched a bit of last night's Rolling Stones at Glastonbury on my iPad before getting up properly. Last night I'd watched the whole performance on the TV in the Glen Park (home of the Ayr Brewing Company) and really enjoyed being able to watch the show while drinking pints of Scaur o' Doon, Rabbie's Porter and Jolly Beggars. The other advantage was that I didn't need to use Portacabin loos swimming with all sorts unlike most Glastonbury concert goers! I had a good way to watch the show I think. I was back in the house around midnight before I turned into a wizened old crone again.....
Anyway, back to today.. I decided to go out for a bit of a wander to get a picture for today after deciding that although Ayr pigeons are very nice too, I'd better find something else today. Mom didn't like the look of the darkening skies and decided she'd rather stay home and cremate the dinner! You can tell where I get my Masterchef tendencies from..
The sun put in a very brief appearance as I left the house but had disappeared two minutes later, by which time I'd sat on a bench on the seafront to have a lovely chat with the wind and the seagulls flying around me, the Isle of Arran shrouded in a blanket of dense cloud in the distance.
I trundled towards town after that. It wasn't cold at all, just a bit blowy and threatening. I took a few pictures on one of the bridges - this one I have used shows St Margaret's Catholic Cathedral where mom goes about four times a week peaking up on the left - before I went into town for a mooch around the shops. I also got a birthday card for FrankS and sat down in the Kyle Centre (not Jeremy Kyle!!) with a cuppa while I wrote the card and addressed the envelope. I then posted it in the box outside WHSmiths. I am only telling you this because I think Frank's birthday is on Tuesday and I have left it a bit late as usual! Here is the evidence that I have tried!
Track? One of my favourite Stones numbers from last night which I needed on the way home as the heavens opened and I was soaked by the time I got back to mom! - Gimme Shelter
