Into the storm
Last week’s visit to G’s mum having been aborted due to the shingles episode, we drive along the coastal path today - and of course it’s an excuse to try out the car on a longer run.
Driving west, we’re heading into Kathleen, the sky threateningly black, the wind rocking the car as we drive.
We stop at Penmaenmawr, looking out into the storm, the blackness relieved by patches of unlikely sunshine highlighting the choppy sea. Over Puffin Island, rain gives rise to the darkest of rainbows.
Returning, the sky is brighter, but the wind as strong as ever. This is not a sea of spectacular breakers; rather a shallow bay of sandbanks where the wind scoops up the surface of the choppy water creating patches of spindrift. Meanwhile, over to the east, the Great Orme stands in watery sunshine beneath the storm clouds.
My main’s a mono of the morning darkness, with extras of the other scenes.
I’ve tried not to apologise for tardiness as I’d be apologising every day. Suffice to say, I’m very slow right now - particularly with journals, but hopefully things will improve, so thank you for your patience
