Yevonde: Life and Colour

With many thanks to inukshukne for alerting me - we've just spent a most enjoyable day down in Newcastle, primarily to visit the "Yevonde: Life and Colour" exhibition ... and by a stroke of even better-luck, the only day we could make it (today!), just happened to coincide with the curator of the exhibition giving an introductory talk :-)

Hearing all the background to how the exhibition came together, along with a brief sketch of Yevonde's fascinating life, made the actual exhibition all the more enjoyable. It is on for another week or so, and would highly recommend a visit if you're down that way.

Main snap shows a photographic portrait of Jill Scott by Yevonde; 1st extra a slightly distant shot of Clare Freestone giving the curator's introductory talk; 2nd extra is some of the external advertising for the exhibition which I really liked; 3rd extra is of the Laing Gallery taken from inside the top floor of the nearby Newcastle City Library; 4th extra is a shot of Newcastle Cathedral which we had some time to visit before catching the train back up to Edinburgh :-)

An excellent day.
