Bit of a rubbish night’s sleep but we were up and out pretty early.
We walked along the seafront from Boscombe to Hengistbury Head, stopping for a coffee and cake at the cafe when we got there. Signs said not to feed the birds, I expected seagulls but it was actually some very very brave starlings who wanted our cake.
Did a loop along to Mudeford spit and admired all the beach huts, then back to walk to Tuckton. We intended to have lunch in the tea gardens but gave up after lingering (ignored) by the “please wait to be seated” sign for ages. Instead we went to a bakery I’d already admired online and got a deliiicious focaccia (and a salted caramel doughnut for pudding) and sat in the park by the little marina to eat it.
Carried on walking to Christchurch, had a look in a few charity shops and another coffee pitstop, then got the bus back to Boscombe.
In the evening we got some chips and went down to the pier to eat them - surreptitiously to avoid beady seagull eyes - and watch big black clouds rolling in.
unofficial blip birthday as I’ve racked up about 2 years’ worth of missed days… I suppose not too bad going since 2008. Sorry Ma for using a photo of you looking so windswept!
