Black And White

It’s been a busy old day today. A PT session first thing, which was definitely a shock to the system after three days away. Then it was straight down to Lloyd BMW to drop off Mrs C’s car so that it can be repaired. I’m hoping that it won’t be in the bodyshop for too long as I’m not impressed with what’s been provided by the accident management company as a courtesy car. It’s a 73 plate Mercedes - very nicely specced - but there’s just too much electronic “faffery” for my liking. Give me a BMW any day.
We dropped the chap who had delivered the Merc at Oxenholme station, so he could catch a train back to his base in Warrington. It would have been churlish not to, as we were heading to Asda anyway.
After lunch, we had to pop out to Aldi as we had nothing in for tea. By the time we got home, the blue sky I’d planned on blipping had disappeared but my eye was caught by the contrast between this black tulip and the exochorda it was growing in the middle of.
One good thing though. I’d missed out on tickets to see Peter Kay when they were first announced. Despite the numerous dates he is doing in Manchester, I just couldn’t find any tickets and gave up looking. But some idle browsing on Ticketmaster today threw up some really good seats on a day next month when we will be near Manchester anyway. And not overpriced resale tickets either - an almost complete row near the front of one of the lower tier blocks was showing as available. I’m surmising that maybe it was a group booking that has cancelled but, whatever the reason, two of those tickets now have my name on them. I’ve heard excellent reviews from friends who have been already, so am definitely looking forward to it.
