Goodbye June -- You were Delicious

The last day of June is pouring out its final two hours here on America's West Coast. I have enjoyed this month--it's been wonderful from the first day all the way through to tonight.

This morning before 6:00 I caught a glimpse of the day that was arriving as I stepped out onto the upstairs deck -- wow! So I grabbed my point and shoot and moved toward the outer edge (see photo in upper left). Then I realized that below me the pool, now with new plaster and tile, has been completely filled. Mr. Fun was shutting off the water hoses.

The pool construction supervisor arrives early tomorrow morning to do the "start-up" so in a few days I'll blip some of what we've done here, even though there still is quite a bit of finishing to do in the backyard--more patio to pour, fence to build, and a barbeque to build. So we're not done yet.

This June has been like a goblet of the finest champagne -- effervescent, filled with life's fine moments - it's been delicious all the way to the last drop that is about to drip from our glass.

I was hoping that the sun would make its exit this evening in a burst of color similar to last night's passionate exit, but there were fewer clouds so while it was beautiful, it was not exactly spectacular (bottom right photo), but it certainly was worth pausing long enough just to whisper to the sun, "See you next month."

So thank YOU June for wrapping us in light, for surrounding us in the wonder of the changing of seasons. It's been a month filled with memories and they are the best souvenirs. Thanks to Blipfoto many of these memories can be viewed again.
