Achingly green
When i wandered round the garden first thing in the morning, in the bright sunshine with a cup of tea, mainly to check what the deer have done whilst we were away, the garden and the view were so green that it shimmered and sang with loveliness. And I heard a cuckoo.
The deer seem to be concentrating on roses and geraniums. They haven’t eaten my potted lilies like they did last year, probably because I’ve kept them near the house. The beech and the Canadian oak are coming into proper leaf and they look so lovely too.
I managed to drag myself into the office and work all day rather than stay in the garden but on days like today it was difficult.
Did a bit of potting up in the evening.
