In and Out

I spent a relaxing afternoon (see first extra) taking shots of the swift box that has been commandeered by a pair of starlings and are currently raising a brood.  What I had in mind was further experimentation with double exposure, only this time combining in PS, not in the camera.
 
I tried a triple but that was not so good (must refine my techniques, or find out how to do it) and out of 160 shots chose two (other shots were available).  The third would have been the same sequence but the bird approaching in flight. 
 
My blip is in mono which I think worked best, but the colour version is at the second extra.  Also the two original photos.
