curns' corner

By 7pm, we were at Waterloo and then walked to The Palladium.  We got a drink in the bar (PY was on Diet Coke, but I tried wine and then a Pimms; neither was quite what I wanted). Then we took our seats. We were at the top of the theatre, which had a steep slope. Sometimes, this can be unnerving, but our seats were fine. After we sat, we got an Instagram message from Mark RP, who was also in the audience but in better seats below us. He suggested a quick meet-up. We thought we were trapped at our level as we couldn't see a way down, but he managed to find a way up, and it was great to catch up.

The show started with a great collection of hits: I Heard a Rumour, Last Thing on My Mind, Movin' On, Trick of the Night and Cruel Summer. They have set the show to run continually for the allotted time, so there was no chat from Karen and Sarah. That's sad as they can be funny, and some stories from their 40 years in the business would have been interesting. There's never enough time for all the hits, but the show was built around their greatest hits album, and I am not sure why they skipped some big numbers to play covers that are not part of their catalogue: Atomic, Lost in Music, and You Spin Me Round.

I'm glad we went, as it was a lot of fun, but looking back, their Kew The Music show was more fun. Maybe it's because we were right in the Gods (although our view was great).
