Day Two in Kos
We took a trip to Kos Town today.
We picked up some bikes from a little rental place near our hotel & set off along the level coast line toward town. Some beautiful sights can be glimpsed on route - views of Turkey, a big tanker parked in the sea, the harbour with some incredible yachts land locked or just staying over night. It really is beautiful. We had a short stop at a lovely church, where I took a few shots.
We peddled through the town to the party district, decided we'd come far enough & headed back in for some wandering & to look for somewhere nice for lunch. We spent much of our time in & around a beautiful cobbled square, circling the Tree of Hippocrates. Some sweet little girls were singing & playing an instrument in it's shadow.
We stopped a welcoming restaurant with shade & views over the ruins. Something cold was definitely needed & with that in mind, I had a banana split & Jenny had sorbet - it was just what Hippocrates ordered! We spent a few hours chilling & reading & then made our way back for an afternoon of the usual sunbathing & swimming.
