Today I went to Skipton by bus . . . cheaper than paying for parking. My aims were to visit the castle and walk along the canal further than I’ve done previously.

Castle first which was fortunate because as I was leaving one school group was going in and three more were waiting. An interesting self guided tour though I thought it was wrong after point 22 where the door shown to go through was chained off. As a result I didn’t get into the dungeons.

Then along the canal beside the castle towards Skipton Woods but I decided that going into the woods would be further than I wanted to walk.

Back into town where I bought an ice cream and ate it as I walked by the canal. That was when I saw the boat in the main photo approaching. Ice cream quickly swapped to the other hand so I could get some photos. Walked further along the towpath then cut back to Tesco where I bought food for this evening as a cheap alternative to another meal out.
