Palaiokastro bridge

What should have been the most challenging walk of the fortnight morphed into a delightful walk along the top of a gorge as we watched the storm clouds gather. The gusty winds meant we had to miss out on a high level expedition to see another church and ruined castle, for which most of us were quite grateful. The chap in the blip is our highly skilled and gracious guide.

A one in a lifetime lunch time stop a few kilometres north of the bridge in Kochylos where the owner of a kafenion made us coffee on a calor gas stove, extra, and allowed us to eat our picnic in the shelter of an awning. His wife insisted on taking our photographs after removing some items from her washing line. Later the conversation at dinner was speculation on how she managed to get them so white.

Starting in Syneti we finished in Ormus Korthiou with spectacular caper bushes in flower, extra, in between.
