Before the Cock Crowed
It’s the early girl that gets the sun. I was that girl but to take advantage of the clear skies and sunshine I had to leave the house before 6am and be at the sea by 6:30am. I thought I might have had the beach to myself but 3 ladies beat me to it and with the tide at its highest we were cheek by cheek as we changed!
The sea was flat calm and clear with no wind. It was so good for the soul, to float on my back , looking up into the blue sky above and contemplating the meaning of life. There seems much more meaning to life on a sunny morning like this away from the madding crowd than jostling with people on a rain soaked pavement.
The catch to this early start was finding it almost impossible to keep my eyes open when I sat down later with my book and a restorative coffee in Söderberg. When my book slipped to the ground twice as I nodded off, it was time to go home. Too embarrassing to stay any longer.
The weather has reverted to type and has been raining since midday.
