NEWBIGGIN BEACH

Sorry this is late, I will catch up with you all tomorrow.

We had to go to Barrow today for a Consultant's  follow up appointment after Hubby's op earlier this year.  Both being ex-Navy we always arrived everywhere far too early, we prefer to do that because you never know what traffic issues you may encounter and  it's less stressful.

Anyway at lunchtime we went to Brooke Supplies Cafe in Flookburgh, then headed off to Barrow following that.  We got parked with no problem ad arrived far too early, but could sit and relax with a book whilst waiting our turn.  

Now at previous appointments, we've been the only ones, to see Mr Calvey, anyway but today it was very busy so we ended up being nearly an hour late!!!   Still to be fair they are very very busy and I'd still rather that than going all the way to Preston with the horrendous problems of traffic and parking there, so no problem.

We didn't have long but he had obviously studied Hubby's medical notes and told us a few things and said all looked well.  He should have another scan end of July/early August time-ish and then another  one about Decembe/January - both either in Kendal or Barrow, then it should just been yearly - yeah to that.

We ended up leaving the Furness Hospital about 4.00 pm and decided as the weather was pretty good we would come home via the coast road.  We stopped off at Newbiggin so I could take this photo, plus a few others.  It was a really pleasant drive.  We then stopped again at Bardsea almost next to Roy's Ice Cream Van and sat on a bench just in front of it eating Lakes Ice Cream and looking out over Morecambe Bay.

Newigginn was very quiet - you can just make out a lady with two dogs walking on the each and I passed another couple of dog walkers but that was all.  Bardsea was busy, not horrendous though, just busy - but then it is half term and it was very nice seeing so many young families out enjoying the beach and the weather.

We then came home, got caught up in heavy traffic at Greenodd roundabout but not too horrendous, and eventually got home at 5.00pm.
