Ardbeg back home

Early start today as we had to be at the Ardbeg distillery for a 10.30 tour.
We arrived early and I took the time and break in the weather to get a shot I had in mind. This is a bottle of Ardbeg Supernova from the whisky society. It is a fantasic dram that got me into Ardbeg. Thought it would be fitting to bring it home for this photo. Sadly there was only a couple of drams left in the bottle.

Had a nice tour around the distillery with a great guide. The most informative one of the trip so far. Finished up with 5 drams of Ardbeg as well. A quick trip to the shop and a bottle of Corryvreckan later we headed home for a quick lunch, as we only had 1 hour to have lunch at the house and get to Lagavulin.

Had a good 5 dram tasting at Lagavulin but you can tell the difference in distilleries. As Ardbeg only sells single malts and isn't part of the Diageo group their shop and tour is much better than the distillery's that are part of the Diageo classic malt range.

From there it was a short walk back to Laphroaig to scrounge another dram and find our square foot of Islay that we now own as part of the Friends of Laphroaig.

We had a great spag bol for dinner before starting to get things packed up for the trip home tomorrow.
