Bruichladdich Distillery

Back Blip.

Woke up and left our friends in the house not feeling well. Headed over to Bowmore to have a sample at the distillery. Not the best dram we have had this holiday but we did just try the standard release. Will have to go back for a few more next time.
From there it was over to the brewery for a sample and some more supplies. Had a GREAT cup of coffee or so it advertised.

Next up was a trip to the Kilchoman distillery. We found this at the whisky stomach and thought it was a great dram, but we had had a few by then. Nice little distillery that has only been going for around 5 years and is located in a farm. The whisky was as good as we remembered and a bottle was added to the collection

Next stop was Bruichladdich distillery for a tour and the warehouse tasting. Great tour and an even better tasting. We have a cask of 2005 Bruichladdich for starters. The guy taking the tasting let us pour our own from the cask as well.
Next up was a 2008 Port Charlotte. Nice dram. Last but not least was an Octomore peated at 80ppm. Great dram but you can't taste anything else after.
In the shop we tried some of the latest release of Octomore at 167ppm. Another bottle to the collection and a few glasses as well.

We met up with our friends at the distillery before going to the beach and then back to the house for J's Morocan game stew and a game of Ticket to Ride.
