Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Wall to wall sunshine! Everyone was happy, especially the Meadows Festival organisers, who’ve had a few washouts over the years, but were mobbed this year.

We sat out in the front garden, Hazel popped in for a coffee. Archie thinks he’s hiding behind the Acer!

Once Archie had gone out with Elizabeth, we set off for lunch to a local restaurant (Leftfield) just across the putting green. We’ve been there before, and always hear good reports, and have been meaning to return.

Well, we had the most delicious meal. And not only that, there was QUIET jazz on in the background with everybody just talking quietly - brilliant!

We had a seat by the window, looking out over the putting green to Miss Jean Brodie’s old hangout.

When we left, me to come home, JR to Bruntsfield shop, ostensibly for a particular greetings card, but ended up in several clothes shops, scoring a couple of excellent buys.

I was half way home when I realised I’d forgotten my walking stick AGAIN. when I got back near the restaurant, there was an arm sticking out of the door with my stick held high. The owner had seen me coming. I did laugh!

Watching ERIC on Netflix. Not exactly engrossed in it…
