Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Good job done!

The neighbour borrowed the lawnmower for their front garden, as a young chap had offered to do it, and their hedge. My ears pricked up. Hedge cutting?

And so, this morning, after he had done their hedge, he came to do ours! A big job, really- three hours he was slaving away, not a bead of sweat on him. Didn’t need water. And he did a pretty good job, sweeping up, and taking off a few inches so that the top was reachable without a ladder. He was quite tall.

And so, the hedge is now looking trimmed and beautiful. Good job.

It’s been lovely today, though breezy. JR has taken Archie out for two walks - actually - three, counting the 7.30am one. (14,378 steps).

Now, people seemed to be upset about the daisies on the back lawn being cut. No worries - I see they’re sprouting up again today already - no hard feelings!

These alstromeria have been blooming for ages! I know their name because Elizabeth, who gave them to us, told us.

PS Nearly forgot!! I’ve got an appointment for this month in ophthalmology!! Good news indeed.
