Still never been in the New Dungeon Ghyll!

Rather a wet one in the Lakes, they were clearly filling up with water after last week’s sunshine (when we were at home).  A rather wet walk, there were moments that it looked “lighter and brighter’ however they were rather short lived and after around 2 hours of driving rain we fell through the doors of Lanty Slee’s a rather lovely coffee, food, beer and craft spirit emporium adjacent to the New Dungeon Ghyll hotel. Well not adjacent, in fact closer to Grasmere by around 100m and when your goretex jacket reached its limit of waterproofness about an hour ago, 100m is important!  Furnished with coffee, cake and small shots of spirits infused with local herbs, we strode on to Elterwater and back to the hotel.  Needless to say, while said jackets are drying, the sun has appeared and it looks glorious on the fells.  

Such is life holidaying in the lakes!
