Mini Dahlia

We were up early. I worked on a few projects, then went outside. The hummers got some fresh nectar. I have flowers to put in my front garden but it had to be cleaned first. We have a large clump of decorative grass that is trying to take over the front half. Liriope is squeezing everything on the back. Hubby cut the grass in half and discarded part of it. We both worked on the liriope. It got quite warm (~ 86°F) so we left the rest of the project until tomorrow morning. While we took a water break, I noticed this tiny dahlia bloom that was in a pot on the front porch. These containers stay in the basement during the winter. The bloom is about one inch in diameter. We went inside, showered and got to school by 11:00. We helped with the Knights’ end of year ice cream social for the students and staff. I had to pick up Brooklyn; hubby mowed the lawn. We’ll have burger leftovers for dinner. Hoping your day was sunny. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “There is nothing like the first hot days of spring when the gardener stops wondering if it's too soon to plant the dahlias and starts wondering if it's too late.” - Henry Mitchell
