Comiston Farm House

Breezy outside, but still quite warm. On the lunchtime walk, the wind felt very warm. Very hazy views of Burntisland.

After work I walk down to Braidburn Valley Park. There are lots of people, some sunbathing, others sitting on the grass chatting with friends. On the way back I take a photo of Comiston Farm House.

Last summer foxes, Extra, were relaxing on the grass and lots of different birds were singing. An oasis of wildlife. However, it was owned by the council, who sold it for redevelopment. The first planning application received lots of criticism , which would have seen the complete demolition of the farm house and replace it with high density flats. The second application to turn Comiston Farm House in to three flats surrounded by 6 houses was accepted by the Council. However, only key trees have been saved, so most of the greenery has gone, along with the top soil. The wildlife would still be here if the council had selected the community owned option. But the requirement for short term funds took precedence. The birds no longer sing here. And the foxes were made homeless earlier this year.
