Morning run

It impresses me how Hannah manages to fit in her near daily - Monday to Saturday - stints at F45, doing a tough workout before going to the office every day, but now she's fitting in her half-marathon training, too.

Next on her training plan was an 8.8 mile run, so F45 was sacrificed this morning, and we made a seven o'clock start from outside her flat.

Her previous longest run was seven and a half miles, so this was another step up but she took it all quite literally in her stride as we ran along the Irwell for a while, turned back to run around the Wetlands, along Kersal Vale Road, and then back along the river.

It's amazing to think that it's only a year ago that she was still getting to grips with Parkrun! But now she's ready, I reckon, for the ten mile race in July, and she's be more than ready for the half-marathon in October.

I took today's Blip along the first stretch of the Irwell. Not a particularly lovely area, but these wildflowers were doing their best.

Other than that, I had a nice day, we a trip to the Blues Kitchen in the evening to see Paolo playing a solo set, and where the Minx treated us to 'mocktails', which were surprisingly good. (Paolo was on good form. Some lovely work with his looper pedal that strayed away from the blues into the kind of territory I favour.)
