Sally Mair - Loving life

The colours in the garden just now are so fresh and clean. Blue delphiniums next to white sweet smelling Philadelphus. Wonderfully scented pure white peonies - they always flower later than the red ones and from next to the driveway my rampant Golden Shower climbing rose, which clearly enjoyed being vigorousy pruned last year. It will flower repeatedly throughout the summer. It thrives in very poor conditions, in a dry spot with next to no soil in a small gap beside the slabs.
I've had a bit of a duvet day today, emerging occasionally, but one of my visual migraines had been hovering just on the horizon all day. Hopefully a night's sleep well see it off completely.
I've been entertained by a riot of twittering fledgling sparrows, fluttering around the garden trying to work out how to actually stop where they want to, as they disappear into the depths of a bush and reappear, shaking their heads, on the earth underneath. Such fun to watch.
Taylor Swift night two, another cold evening. Son in law is on duty tonight. I wonder if he has taken earplugs!
