Today's the day ..................... for a local celebrity

Meet Kelton the Belted Galloway  bull, made of wicker and standing three metres high on Castle Hill in Castle Douglas.

He was created in nearby Auchencairn by willow artist, Trevor Leat, and he is always popular with locals and visitors alike.  He returned home to the town in November last year after a three-year stint touring showpiece events across the country.

And no doubt, he will have a whole load of personal appearances in the local area, lined up over the coming summer months .....................
