Marwick Head
Wild and windy walk up on Marwick Head. Fabulous cliff top look g down on the wild sea and nesting birds. Tone fair the birds were either clinging to the cliffs for all they were worth, or the other extreme of sailing with the wind. I felt like we were doing both at time. The promise of a cafe at Birsay kept me going (I’m easily pleased).
And then a late afternoon walk over to Birsay once the tide had dropped and the causeway was clear. Roamed through what had once been a Pictish, and then Viking settlement, then round the cliff to the lighthouse.
MrKT was keen on spotting puffins that flew off just before I looked over.
