Surfers
Myself and the kids hit the beach early this morning to search for and collect shells, whilst hubby went for a run (unfortunately I have achilles tendinopathy in my right leg which I've managed to ignore for a couple of months but have now been told to rest).
It was lovely at the beach as there weren't too many people about (well it was before 8am) only lots of surfers. It's a bit of a European surfing Mecca around these parts so it was fun to watch the guys in the above blip select their spot and do some surfing. We collected loads of shells, some lovely and some horrible broken ones that the kids insisted on putting in the bucket. Myself and Olivia played noughts and crosses in the sand and wrote messages whilst Dexter made tracks and drove his toy bus through the sand.
We then dropped Olivia off at Leo's again as they were doing an art attack session this morning, which is right up Olivia's street. We did some more exploring on the bikes and then at lunchtime we all headed off to Lac Leon for lunch and some pedalo fun. I haven't been on a pedalo for years and was impressed to see how fancy they are these days in the shapes of cars, swans etc. We chose one with a slide which looked like a lot of fun but there was a big drop from slide to water so mean old Mummy wouldn't let Olivia do it much to her protestations and even though she was wearing a life jacket.
Both kids fell asleep in the car on the way back from the lake which meant that we could enjoy another late night this evening. So once we were all showered and had our fancy holiday clothes on we headed to Soustons which although nice didn't really do it for us so we headed slightly further afield to Hossegor which was much better and we enjoyed a nice meal complete with chocolate crepes, yum yum.
