A ferry ride

I'm back home now. We left this morning and took the ferry across to Nova Scotia, then drove home from there. This photo was taken just after the ferry docked and before the cars that were driving off came into view. The front of it raises for cars to drive on and off, and lowers when it is crossing the Northumberland Strait. There is a steep ramp inside and cars go to the lower level, trucks and buses are on the upper level. During the crossing all passengers have to go up to the decks. I spent part of the 75 minute crossing outside.

The extra is the Woods Island lighthouse, near where the ferry leaves from.

We were back to sunshine today and there is talk of a heat wave later this week. Forecast highs are in the high 20's for Wednesday and Thursday.
