Visiting the Menai Straits

In March 2023 we housesat two beautiful white cats - their mum and dad lived in a flat close to their house which was about to be refurbished. Today we called in to say hello to the cats and their owners of course and to see their wonderful home, it is very smart and overlooks the water and all that’s going on out there, a lively couple of hours with a few cat cuddles thrown in.  I forgot to take a photo.

It was time to leave and off to take a look around Caernarfon, 7-8 miles away, in fact we didn’t, on arriving and paying the car park fee the town was too busy, bus loads of people going by the number of buses/coaches parked in the centre.  We decided to go back to Menai Bridge and try the vegetarian cafe, The Green Olive, this was spot on, not too busy, a good lunch and lovely chat with the person sat next to us.

It was pleasant to wander along the main street, to window shop and pop into a smashing alleyway lined with plants and flowers, enticing. John is looking and sounding normal again, it all takes time, he was happy to chat to the woman running this business and even started talking about plants for our garden and home. We fancy a large ish green plant in the sitting room, a philodendron or Aspidistra, anyway, it is pointless looking this far from home, the car isn’t that big.  A quick shop and back to the two dogs, as usual they jumped, hopped and barked excitedly, they are very sweet.

Main photo inside the alleyway and a CP shop in Caernarfon. I think Covid makes us uncomfortable in a crowded shop or street, wonder if others  feel the same?  I had left the camera at home and couldn’t open the phone, it is playing up, eventually it gave way and at last managed three photos.
