Roses are red……

……. but not all of them. We do have an assortment of colours in our garden but today Nick and I thought that this one was a beauty.
It was an early start for me to drive down to Craignure in time to meet the 8.15 ferry that was carrying our organic fruit and veg orders. Next I had to call at the abattoir to pick up a pet mince order for some friends. The first veg box delivery was in Salen and I was invited to stay for coffee and chat which was very pleasant. I eventually made it home having successfully delivered all orders, along with some goats milk along the way. 
In the afternoon I managed to spend some time in the polytunnel, finally achieving some semblance of order, without encountering any alien creatures.
The summer solstice occurred at 21.51 this evening in the northern hemisphere so from tomorrow the days will start getting shorter again!!!!! We may have been enjoying long days but it certainly doesn’t feel like summer.
