A Rose by any other Name
.... is still prickly!
There is a rambling type rose planted by the door to the upstairs flat at Ruth's. For the last couple of years it's tangle has grown around the door but this winter Ruth, whose garden it is, has cut it back hard and trained the remaining growth along the wall under one of her windows. It will grow a lot further if trained and kept in check but is already throwing out loads of buds, the first few flowers open. My green fingered daughter :-)
Mum and I drove back after a quiet day at Ruth's. Mum's recovering from an infection and is sleeping even more than the average 96 year old. Thankfully the sleep seems to be slowly restorative and now in Chris's care with me in reserve, she should soon be back to normal. Ruth and I did some tidying, sorted out Mum's meds into much better order and shopped for a few bits and bobs. I'll see Ruth again next week as I set off on a round multi-stop trip.
Extra pic - look what Meg spotted by the front door when we got home.
