Bamburgh
Sad to leave our lovely campsite near Hexham this morning but knew there would be more excitement where we were heading northwards to near Bamburgh where we will be staying for the next 5 days. Our new site is gorgeous and 'Matilda' has a sea view. The weather has picked up nicely, sunny and 26degrees.
This afternoon we went to Bamburgh and had a lovely walk through the sand dunes and down onto the beach. What a beautiful coastline this is with the majestic castle above you and Holy Island in the distance. Whilst walking I had a phone call from my nephew to tell me that his Father, my brother in law, had died this morning. Very sad news but a timely release for my BinL who had been bravely battling the effects of a bad stroke for the last 8 years. His death now makes me about the eldest of many cousins!
11.15pm and it's very light on this the longest day.
Extra: One of the many wild Orchids hiding in the sand dunes for FridayFriday. Thanks to BikerBear ~Anni~ for hosting.
