More Solstice vibes
Running a day late!
Ghastly weather in the morning, the rain coming down in stair rods and then miraculously in the afternoon it lifted and we did a quick yomp of the circuit followed by a swim - soooooo cold!
Then we went off to Durrus to meet Ginny and Colin for a catch up and large pizzas. Most enjoyable.
The late evening still pleasant I got a bee in my bonnet as to whether it was still the Solstice and would I see the Lunar standstill too complicated to explain but it sounded interesting and people were getting excited about it . I went back up to the stone circle - no gull this time but the offerings had multiplied and the apple had good chunks out of it. By my calculations, always dodgy, moonrise was 10.24 - I went off to a high vantage point and looked hopefully in an eastward direction. Clearish with soft clouds but no moon. I came home had a bath, and what should I see rising magnificently but a big fat orange moon. Cosmic. And no I didn't have my camera in the bath but just enjoyed the spectacle.
