Holyrood Palace

I had visited Holyrood last week, when I had a look around the modern parliament building. I had listened in on a session in the debating chamber, where the minister was answering MSP questions on health issues. It was all refreshingly modern.

Today I visited the adjacent royal palace, a much older edifice with 500 years of history behind it. Most of it was rebuilt during the reign of Charles II, but the part on the left hand side in this image dates back to the reign of James V. Preparations were in hand in the gardens for the Garden Party which I think is being held this coming weekend (extra).

It was also good to meet fellow blipper Pleach earlier, an enjoyable start to the day.
