The day started a bit dreich, but as it progressed, the sun came and we had a splendid afternoon.
Archie went for a bonus walk with Elizabeth, just back from her holiday.
I did a bit of painting over the big long hole that the electrician made in the hall - right up to the ceiling. He’d had to run new cables into the bathroom ceiling to replace the lights. It doesn’t quite match the hall paint, but it’s in a dark corner, and so it’s not noticeable. It may or may not be done in the proper colour eventually.
After I finished painting in the hall, I then had a go at arranging travel insurance. Jings!!! I was nearly tearing my hair out!! Honestly, it took about half an hour, questions questions, questions re my illustrious medical history. Eventually, she quoted double for the single cruise what we had paid for a whole year last year!!
I’ve got a few links to follow up after a Google search, and they look much more reasonable. Will check them out tomorrow. But really, the questions are concerned with health in the last TWO YEARS. They do not need to know that I had a triple bypass-pass 15 years ago. (I haven’t). Actually, they DO need to know any heart conditions!!This was not a good example. They don’t need to know that I had a new hip in NZ IN 1983!
Hazel came over for a cruise debrief in the afternoon, and Elizabeth also stayed for drinkies in the garden when she brought Archie back. Both visitors have just been on holiday in rather extreme European temperatures, so appreciated our modest warmth here.
Just had to switch the sound off on the final Election debate - both leaders consistently talking at the same time!
