Eighteen Years On

One of my fave photos, of my daughter at her first birthday party, before her inner introvert outed itself.  A great day (and a great cake if I say so myself, a chocolate meringue concoction from Stephanie Alexander, never to be repeated).  The intervening years have not always been kind, but  this year she had a fabulous sleepover with a small group of very good friends, playing games and chatting, and then a nice catchup with my sister and partner  (see extra).  This year, the cake was Woolies; now she's recovering with the  new Super Mario game my brother (pictured here) indulged her with.
