Bales and bulls....
A day when I got just about everything done. No doubt will pay for it tomorrow.
Managed to shed out the Angus bull from the other 9 and walk him home from the field this morning. Apart from a minor detour into the roadside hedge for a scratch it went quite well. Loaded him into the trailer and took him next door to wee brother's spring calving cows.
Next job was to dig out the bale wrapper and hitch up the baler. Once I'd greased everything, and eventually remembered how to put all the hydraulic hoses on the baler into the right spool valves, got Kev to hitch up the rake and start rowing up the field of grass I cut on Friday. We had hoped to try and make hay,but the weather isn't playing ball,so wrapped haylage will need to do.
Got Kev to start carting bales in.
I had it all baled by 4.30 pm,so got another trailer on carting bales in to wee brother who was on the wrapper . Had the field cleared by 7.30pm ,then I took over wrapping cos wee brother had things to do .
Had them all wrapped by 9 pm. 165 bales.
Looking at the sky I think we were very lucky it stayed dry. Not often luck goes my way....
